How to maintain cold heading dies?

Cold heading mold is an indispensable tool in the production of fasteners, its precision and durability directly affect product quality and production efficiency. Cold heading mold is easy to residual metal chips, lubricants and oxides in the process of using, after each use, special cleaner or ultrasonic cleaner should be used to remove the surface dirt of the mold, to avoid the wear and tear of the mold by the foreign matter.

The working environment of cold heading die is harsh, high speed stamping will produce a lot of heat and friction. Regularly applying high temperature resistant lubricant can not only reduce the friction, but also prevent the oxidation of the mold surface and improve its durability.

Regularly use high-precision measuring instruments to check the dimensional accuracy of the molds, and any abnormalities found should be polished or replaced immediately to prevent the products from failing due to the damage of the molds.

Ensure that the mold operates within its rated range. Meanwhile, the use of poor quality raw materials should be avoided to reduce the loss of the mold. It should be stored in a dry, rust-proof environment and coated with a layer of rust-proof oil to avoid rusting of the molds due to humid air, which will affect the service life.
