Something about Tungsten Crucible

Tungsten Crucible (tungsten carbide mill jar) is a kind of high-temperature resistant container for experimental and industrial applications in high-temperature environment. It is mainly made of pure tungsten plate, tungsten sheet and pure tungsten rod through the corresponding process, and some of the products will add a certain amount of rare earth elements to improve the oxidation resistance.

They are generally cylindrical in shape, with diameters ranging from 10mm to 500mm, heights ranging from 10mm to 750mm, and wall thicknesses ranging from 8mm to 20mm. It has high specific gravity, high melting point (the melting point of tungsten is about 3410°C), high boiling point, low vapor pressure, small evaporation rate, low coefficient of thermal expansion, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, good thermal conductivity and other physicochemical properties.

Application fields:

High-temperature melting: for melting and processing high melting point materials such as metal alloys, ceramics and semiconductor materials.

Material science: In material science and metallurgical experiments, tungsten carbide jar are used for high temperature tests and heat treatment of materials.

Vacuum and inert gas environments: For use in vacuum furnaces or inert gas environments, where the chemical stability of tungsten prevents it from reacting with gases.

Photovoltaic industry: Used in the manufacture and treatment of photovoltaic materials at high temperatures, e.g. silicon crystal growth.
