Carbide rotary files for medical applications

Carbide rotary files can be used in orthopedic surgery, oral surgery and spinal surgery.

In orthopedic surgery, carbide rotary burrs are used for cutting and trimming bone tissue. For example, in joint replacement surgery, the articulating surfaces of the femur and tibia need to be precisely trimmed to accommodate the implantation of artificial joints. Carbide rotary files can grind the bone surfaces to the right shape and roughness by virtue of their high-precision cutting ability, ensuring a good fit between the artificial joint and the bone tissues, and improving the success rate of the surgery and the patient's postoperative comfort.

For some surgeries in the oral cavity, such as dental implant surgery, where precise implant sockets need to be prepared on the alveolar bone, the rotary file can precisely cut the bone tissue, control the depth, diameter and shape of the implant sockets, and ensure the stable implant placement.

In spinal surgery, such as spinal fusion or discectomy, it is sometimes necessary to partially remove or trim the vertebrae. Tungsten carbide rotary files can be used to remove diseased vertebral bone tissue or to prepare the surface of the vertebral bone to create the right conditions for the placement of an implant, such as a fusion device.
